Most aluminum trim is bent on site using a portable bender, commonly known as a break. They are only slightly over 10 feet long, so any piece of trim over ten feet will usually have a seam.
Depends on the door, but always at the top when using a garage door opener. Then as close to the hinges as you can get on the panels.

You should just buy a replacement panel rather than a whole new garage door if you have a cracked top panel of the garage door. Remember to buy the same panel as a replacement panel or the door might not function correctly.
Installing a garage door can be done with some basic tools, and an attentive helper The basic components that are needed to install a garage door are an opening that’s sized correctly, the door, and a set of garage door hinges. The size of the rough opening for a particular garage door will most often be specified in the installation instructions that come with the door, and the existing hinges can be used so long as they are in good repair. If a coil door with a spring return is being installed, the existing pivot hinges will not be needed, and can be removed. An over-sized opening can be furred using any thickness of lumber that will build out the jamb sides and the head to the correct rough dimensions. Sectional doors will ride on rails that require solid wood backing as a mount, and any build-out of the opening must be solid in order to secure the lag bolt that attach the rails. Where an overhead coil is being installed, the garage door header will serve as a suitable mounting surface for the coil. Installing a sectional door or a coil door should be done by a professional, and not attempted by anyone who is not familiar with the operation of these doors. With wood garage doors, the installation begins by standing the door in the opening, with several ½” shims to elevate it from the garage floor. With the door in place, the hinges can be installed and through-bolted to the garage door using machine bolts with nuts and washers. Lag bolts are not recommended for attaching the hinge plate to the garage door, since these can work free in time. Once the hinges are secured to the jamb and the door, the door is raised to fully open, and braced in the open position using a 2”x 4”. The springs can be installed and the keeper clips snapped in place to ensure the springs are secure. Once the final spring is stretched on the hinges, the door will self adjust to the correct open position. If an automatic garage door opener is to be installed, the spring tension may have to be adjusted in order not to tax the opener. A few test cycles with the opener will most often resolve any issue related to the spring tension.

I am not sure what brand your garage door opener is, but perhaps you should check with the company that made your particular garage door opener to make sure to get one that will work. It should be in the manual. I have an acura and this is what I had to do. Have your car in the garage, unplug the garage door opener. Hold the button in your car until it blinks fast that resets everything. Once is does hold down the button you want use to open the garage. Plug the garage door opener back in and the bottom should work. It took a few seconds after I plugged it in to work. Hope it works for you...
