No! My mechanic just came over last night and was looking at my car. Same as you, 02 Ford Taurus. My coolant has been leaking, and he figured out that the upper radiator hose was the problem. He said it just gets worn down over time and then becomes soft. Sounds like its time to replace yours, only cost me about $17 at advanced auto.

The 1999 Ford Taurus does not have a radiator cap. Coolant is added by using the over flow bottle instead of a radiator cap.
