Some say GMO foods are vital to feeding the world and are therefore necessary. Others believe they are harmful to the health of animals and humans, as well as to the environment. Still others believe artifically changing the DNA through crossing species (horizontal breeding rather than vertical breeding, which is how breeding occurs naturally) could have devasting consequences. Therefore, there is no agreement on whether there should be GMO foods.
