well spelling correctly shows that the writer loves writing enough to actually know how to spell. spelling is immensely related to writing because you have to spell words correctly for people to be able to read it. also if "spelling mistakes" includes grammar then grammar is a HUGE part of writing. unless you are a experienced writter and dont use proper grammar to portray the story better. all in all spelling mistakes pretty much kills the piece of writing.
