Should we consilidate our debts w/o going bankrupt or is it ok to do both We live in low income housing and we would like to better ourselves by getting out of low income housing and getting into a nice big house since we are a family of 7. ?

Consolidating your loans with the help of a debt relief service has the same effect on your credit as going into full-blown bankruptcy but any of bankruptcy's protections and other perks. I'd say go for the bankruptcy.
