You really can't honor a veteran every second of every day of your life. That's a little overboard! You van honor them when you see them by saying a meer thank you, or a nice, grand smile. We are the Americans, we have to spread the love.

We honor our veterans many ways some of them are veterans day and others are much more simple. I myself go up to them and personally thank them for doing everything that they can to keep us free. Another way is by volunteering in places that help our Vets. They have been there for us in the good times and the bad and we need to do more than what we do as a whole. * Fly a flag, visit a cemetery, visit a war memorial or attend a parade.

We should thank veterans because they fight for our freedom, sacrifice their time for us, and they are human beings just like us. We could be out there fighting, but we're not. Just think of what they could be doing other than this.

Where should you honor a veteran?
There are any number of ways to honor our veterans. You can do it simply by placing a flag outside your home on national holidays like the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc. But you can also do it in a more personal way by visiting any of the many memorials to veterans around the country. Obviously, Washington, DC, has a large number of memorials honoring veterans, like the new WWll Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and one of the more famous, the Vietnam Memorial, also known as "The Wall." Finally, I personally think the best way to honor a veteran is to walk up to him or her and simply say, "Thank you for your service to our country." (and thanks for asking the question...)

No, Veteran's Day is a day the government chose to honor veteran's. On Veteran's Day the point isn't just to get off work or school it is also to take time out of your day to honor and remember all those who have made sacrifices to ensure your freedom. Some of those sacrifices include dying, losing limbs, becoming paralyzed, becoming mentally ill (PTSD, Depression), and physical injuries that can haunt a vet for life... If you know a vet they DEEPLY appreciate you just saying a simple thank you for your service. Afterall you wouldn't be free without them and what they were willing to give to this great country. My favorite quote is "If you can read this thank a teacher BUT because it is english? Thank a soldier!"
