No it sounds like the pill is doing more harm then good. A normal period only lasts about a week. You should consult a doctor about changing the birth control you are on, because it sounds like it isn't strong enough.

If you're going to have sex, please be responsible about it! If you are over 17, you can go to your pharmacist within 72 hours of unprotected sex and get the morning after pill. However, this will mess up your birth control for a month's cycle. Best thing for you to do is to take your birth control like you should and avoid unprotected sex! If you've got to have sex, use a condom and spermicide.
