Yes, even though it's a tough thing to do. Two people can't have a successful relationship if one has a desire for parenthood and the other does not. People do not change for other people, and their viewpoints on their future--on children, marriage, general lifestyle---shouldn't be discounted or considered a non permanent decision.
A person may often try to go along with their partner's decision on children in order to stay in the relationship. However, there would be unhappiness and resentment--either because the person who wanted kids and appeased misses the opportunity to be a parent or because the person who didn't want kids and appeased feels like an outsider as his/her partner devotes themselves to parenthood. It simply won't work either way.
