Not normally...............they do this quite often .........the eggs give them the protein and the shells give them the roughage..............they will tend to eat other's eggs aif their diet is not balanced so give them a good layers pellet with grit..............

well, the best way I have seen is to boil it for 5 minutes maximum. Then due to heat, the egg shells and the crust of the egg gets thiner.
