∙ 15y agoThey say not to because the fish isn't as fresh (because the fresh fish markets are closed on Sundays). However, most reputable sushi restuarants still get fresh fish every day of the week, and it's not a problem if your restaurant is near a coast.

∙ 15y agoWhy not? Now if you are buying it in containers pre-made at a grocery store, it may have been prepared on Friday or Saturday and not be fresh. If you are buying it at a sushi bar, they make it right in front of you and it is as fresh as can be.
