The security light comes on frequently in my 99 Jimmy. To reset turn the key to the "on" position and leave it there for 15 minutes. After that your Jimmy should restart. Sometimes it takes more than one try.
Answer to brake light promblemI don't think it should, check your fuse, it should be in the car in the fuse panel, it should be a yellow 15 fuse. try to replace it, if it still don't work, cheak for losse bulbs, wires, brake switch (on the brake petal ) etc...It's more than likely a loose fuse or broken brake switch.
