At the time, your body -- seatbelt or not -- decelerates from your travelling speed, down to zero, often over just a few feet. Deceleration is absorbed by your body rather like a shock absorber. That said, it's worth a call to the doctor to ask this question. It's very hard to say without such an exam if the deceleration was absorbed by muscle tissue, joints, or by the breaking of bones or internal blood vessels. And I can't tell much more without knowing how fast you were travelling, how you hit, etc. Call your doc and let her make this call.
