If you play airsoft, then no. It should be a non-reflective colour that matches the area(s) you play in, to reduce the chance of being seen (green usually works best. If you do not play airsoft, paint it any colour you want.
try to use krylon camouflage paint to use on your airsoft guns.

Spray painting an air-soft gun may cause malfunctions in an electric gun but to spring it won't matter, unless you get it in the barrel. I see no problem with it though.
