If they are 2 males they have probably reached adolescence and should be separated, our rabbits did this and one did get hurt eventually.
If they are 2 females they are probably all right. Females are less aggressive than males.
They can if they are from the same litter or if you introduce them young. They may fight a little when they mature (2 months) but usually they are harmless. If they are not from the same litter then they will most definitely fight. This can result in death. It is a horrible sight when you see one of your hamsters eating the other.
If fighting does happen often you must buy another cage or sell one. They will not get lonely by themselves. Although having a play mate is fun for them. If you decide not to get 2 dwarf hamsters find some other activities for your hamster to keep them entertained.
Warning: do not get 2 Syrian hamsters even if they are from the same litter. They will fight!
A lot of people say that dwarf hamsters get along with each other well, but my dwarf hamster just fight. Maybe at the beginning you're dwarf hamster will be very good friends, but after a while they will start fighting and they can really hurt each other bad. I would buy to cages but if you can't afford 2 cages, then make sure you have two food bowls, 2 water bottles and two of each toy you have in the cage, because they might fight over the toys and food...
I hope this helped
Those hamsters are most likely Syrian Hamsters. Syrian Hamsters are extremely territorial and will fight each other. They shouldn't be kept in cages together unless for mating. It could be they used to live together in a larger space and therefore didn't mind each other, or more likely, they simply became territorial because it is in their nature to do so.
I would make sure that you separate them or if you put them in the same cage make sure there is nothing to fight over such as food or water.
You gotta separate them or they will fight to the death.
yes you should because they could kill eachother and they fight till one of them is dead.
if they were raised together like brothers or sisters
I recommend getting a dwarf hamster because dwarf hamsters are less territorial and most of the time can be kept together in the same cage. If you put two Syrian hamsters together they will fight to the death.
No. They will fight and kill. You could put two Roborovski, Winter White, or Djungarian dwarf hamsters together though.
No, or yes if you want two mamas if they are dwarf hamsters. If Syrians then no, because they will fight and may even kill each other.
You can put two Dwarf Hamsters together but if you put a male and a female together they most likely have babies. You can put a male Dwarf Hamster and a male Dwarf Hamster together and you can put a female Dwarf Hamster with a femaleDwarf Hamster. Just make sure the two hamsters don't fight.
No, in fact, they are meant to live in pairs.
You don't need two dwarf hamsters for one to thrive, since hamsters are quite solitary and territorial. (They generally attack a partner if they have to live together). However mathematically owning two increases the probability of one thriving (because there's two of them, so if one dies early you still have another chance).
I'd advise against it unless they ar dwarf hamsters. When my family had two male Syrian hamsters, from the same litter, as you've specified, the results were disastrous. They frequently faught, and one day we came home to find one dead with several bites around his neck. In my experience, two male hamsters from the same litter will find a way to make sure that they don't live together. Although dwarf hamsters male and female will live together of the same gender. I have twoo male Russian dwarf hamsters that live together peacefully.
no,after a sertan amont of time hamsters must live in separate cages, unless they are mating
by normal, if you mean sirian hamsters then the main difference is that Chinese hamsters belong to the dwarf hamster species, which are considerably smaller and arent as friendly (believe me, i know, i own two!).
my two sister dwarf hamsters live together. while they do fight at least once a week, they do play with one another. just make sure they are one sex unless you plan on having them reproduce. yes, a brother and sister hamster can have 'normal' babies. my hamsters angel and daisy are from brother and sister parents.
Yes, since Russian Hamsters are Dwarf Hamsters - they can be kept in groups
