The effect has been with us since the planet was formed. We would die without it. Completely stopping the greenhouse effect would require no water vapor (currently 90% of all green house gas is water vapor) and no oxygen (Oxygen turns into O3 with sunlight).

However, we should certainly try to slow the enhanced greenhouse effect, which is the extra greenhouse gases that are being added to the atmosphere by human activity, mainly by burning fossil fuels.

See related link below about levels of added CO2.

What are your reactions regarding to greenhouse effect?

The greenhouse effect keeps the earth warm enough for life. We really need it. The enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect which is causing global warming is what we need to stop!

What are the solution for prevention of green house affect?

Greenhouse effect is due to greenhouse gases. We have to stop their emission.

Can humans stop the greenhouse effect?

We don't want to stop the natural greenhouse effect, which keeps the earth warm enough for life. We can stop the enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect which is causing global warming. But we have to act now and seriously, to move to renewable energy, stop burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), and replant billions of trees.

Why is photosynthesis the only process that can combat the greenhouse effect?

The greenhouse effect does not have to be combatted, as it usefully keeps the earth warm. But we have to stop the enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect which is causing global warming. The only process that can combat the enhanced greenhouse effect is photosynthesis, trees and plants remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

How do people stop the greenhouse effect?

We can't stop the natural greenhouse effect, and we don't want to! Without the natural greenhouse effect, temperatures on the Earth's surface would be far too cold for humans to survive. However, the enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect which is causing global warming can only be stopped by changing to renewable energy (solar, wind, water, hydro, tidal and wave, geothermal, ocean thermal, biomass, and biofuel) and stopping burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas).

How does ozone enhance the greenhouse effect?

Ozone depletion causes plankton to die. These plankton are the ones that stop greenhouse effect.

What can you do to stop green house effect?

You cannot stop the greenhouse effect. This is because the greenhouse effect is a direct result of the earth having an atmosphere, most notably because of the atmosphere containing carbon dioxide.I suppose this means that if you really wanted to stop the greenhouse effect, you'd have to remove all carbon dioxide from the air, along with all other greenhouse gases - which would be difficult.

Why should we care about the greenhouse effect?

The natural greenhouse effect keeps the planet comfortably warm, warm enough for life. Now, however, by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and to make electricity, we are adding additional greenhouse gas to the atmosphere. This is producing an enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect which is causing global warming. This is why we should care and try to stop it.

What will happen if you stop the greenhouse effect?

we'd freeze at night and burn during the day

Why can we not stop the greenhouse effect?

We need the greenhouse effect to keep the earth warm enough for life. This is natural and has been happening for millions of years. We have to stop the enhanced greenhouse effect, caused by our burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, which releases carbon dioxide (CO2). This is causing global warming and climate change.

How will solar energy effect our world?

solar energy will effect our world because it will stop the greenhouse effect from growing -SmartyPants411-Did you also know painting your roof white will reduce greenhouse effect??? If everyone in the U.S. painted their roof white, greenhouse effect would be reduced enough to take back all emissions done in 2008.

Who enforces the law to stop the greenhouse effect?

The Kyoto Protocol is one made to stop the greenhouse effect. They issue the normal range to which the gases can be released. This protocol has been effective. The Kyoto Protocol depends on each country to enforce the promises they each made.
