Converting an R-12 system to an R-134a system involves more than changing just the condenser. If this is a vehicle you're going to continue owning and operating for a while still, it could be worthwhile to do the conversion.
In 1995 most switched from R12 to R134a.
R12 originally. Unless it got converted to 134a, if it did, it should have a sticker indicating 134a.
An R12 system must be retrofitted to be made compatible with R-134a.
R12 134A pre 1996 is r12, after is r134
r12 or 134a
Could be R12 or 134a. This is about the time the automobile industry switched from R12 to 134a. Should be on name plate on compressor. A parts house can help. Ask a dealer. Look in owners manual.
A 1987 would have been built with r12. It should be retrofitted to R 134a.
if it has 134a hose connections, then it takes 134a. if it has the regular thread couplers then it should still have r12 in the system
Its 134a it says it right under the hood.
try using the 134A it's supposed to be compatiable with your r12 that's what i had to do!
R12 And if you still have this change over to 134a instead of buy r12
it originally came with r12, it may have already, if not, you should convert it over to 134a.
