In my advice, you shouldn't because I think that the baby pup should get used to the mother for a couple of days or a week. Hope this helped!
Nurse the pups? A female should clean and eat the placenta around the pup and then start licking it too get him/her breathing. She will then get ready to birth the next pup.
Question should be: Can a rat in labor delay birth if it's preoccupied with the first pup?
i feel my chihuahua is still has one pup she started today at 3pm how long for her to have the last pup?
Yes, they should. The airway is still cleared to make sure birth fluids are removed, but the pup should already be breathing.
A wolf pup only weighs one pound when first born
When you know a dog gave birth and if you are absolutely positive it is the first pup, then bring mom and pup to a box lined with a layer of newspapers and old but clean rags. Other than this one time, don't touch the pup again. Put mom and pup in the box in a quiet corner.Watch mom and make sure she has another pup within 30-60 minutes. IF not, or if mom seems in distress, take her AND the first pup to the vet (pup will need mom so do not separate them).Labor should progress every 30-60 minutes or so. Mom will lick her privates and you may see the area begin to bulge. Talk quietly to her, but let her do her job. She should push out one after another (with time in between).NOTE: If you don't know if it is the 1st born and your dog is outside with the puppy, you may need to wait to bring her in until she leads you to the rest (if she had any others).

No she would not but it is better off to let the mother deal with the pups till the pups eyes open. If you have to touch them take a towel and rub the mother down them pick the pup up with the towel. Be sure not to leave your scent on the pup or the mother will not take care of the pup and it will die.

If your female dog is leaking fluids then she is about to give birth. The first pup should be arriving soon!
A seal or sea lion mom has just one pup a year. Pups are usually born on land--often at the same place where their moms were born. Can you find any pups in the photo at left? If a mom and her pup get separated in a crowd, they had better be able to find each other! How? By smell and sound. As soon as a pup's born, Mom often barks right into its face--and her pup replies. So from the beginning, she and her pup can recognize one another!
