No, you can not put a cotton on a burn wound. This is because the cotton can easily get stuck on the wound and become very difficult when removing it.

What do you do when treating any type of burn victim?

First thing you should do is pour cold water or place the burn wound area under a running tap water for sometime. You can even use chilled water from the fridge for better results. So the burn wound does not blister and the victim gets a lot of burn pain relief. After sometime absorb the water on the wound mildly with a dry towel. But don't wipe the wound harshly as the skin is tender and may peel off. Apply burnt ointment and keep it free from dust. Do not bandage and let the wound be kept opened. If the burn wound is not very severe it would dry gradually or else you would have to seek medical help.

Can you swim with a dog bite wound?

It depends on the water, no matter what you should have the wound covered, but in pond water i wouldn't suggest it, but in a pool it wouldn't be to dangerous but use caution, it could burn you because of the chemicals, plus if there's a lifeguard they wouldn't let you in.

Do you apply a bandage or dressing to an electrical burn caused by a piece of equipment?

yes but first you must clean the wound to prevent infection and if the wound is deep you should use some saline solution with a dressing and place it in the wound and then place another dressing over it you should change these 2-3 times a day it will remove puss and help clean the wound by the second or third day changing them will not be as much of a pain full bother after 2 weeks you should only have to change it 1-2 times a day if you have some shards of equipment in the wound you should consult the nearest hospital.

What should you do if there are foreign bodies in a wound?

You can remove foreign bodies only when you are absolutely certain that doing so won't make things worse. Small splinters can be removed in the field, as can non-penetrating foreign bodies in the eye. Anything that may intersect a blood vessel or underlying anatomical structure (like a bone or tendon) should be secured for transport and handled at the treatment facility. When in doubt, secure and transport.
