I have been on Metoprolol ER 100mg for the past 3 years. I am very sensitive to side effects of medicines and have been on many medicines for a type of tachycardia called WPW. This by far is the best heart medicine I have been on. No side effects whatsoever and like I said I usually have side effects to everything. I am sure it can vary from person to person but I have been great since I started on it. You may feel a bit more tired at first when you start it but that is it. Just make sure you have the right dosage of this medicine I believe it comes in 50mg 100mg and 200 mg. My Dr. started me off on 50mg first then I moved up to 100mg. While taking this medicine if it is for tachycardia you must take this medicine at the same time everyday. You cannot suddenly skip dosages or take it at a later time during the day if I am even late with taking a dosage I can definitely feel it and my heart speeds up. It could be dangerous for me if I do not. I am not sure what you are using the Metoprolol but that is just my opinion with the tachycardia. Good Luck!

There are several side effects of metoprolol tartrate. Some of these side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, diarrhea, and a slow heartbeat.
Tartrate is the generic for Lopressor. Succinate is the generic for Toprol XL.
Metoprolol tartrate and succinate are used for the same purpose, the tartrate being a generic version of Lopressor and succinate being a generic version of Toprol XL.The active chemical is different, however, so it effects may be somewhat different.According to wikipedia.org, "the active substance metoprolol is employed either as metoprolol succinate or metoprolol tartrate (whereas 100 mg metoprolol tartrate corresponds to 95 mg metoprolol succinate), respectively as prolonged-release or conventional-release formulation."I tried both tartrate and succinate, and found a difference in my body reaction. The Tartrate gave me a dry mouth upon awakening in the morning and made my tongue feel a slight tingle. Because I had to take it twice a day, I occasionally forgot to take the second pill. I prefer the Metoprolol Succinate ER. No side effects and conveniently taken once a day. I did experience a difference.
yes
I've researched for hours and hours. Cannot find any metoprolol tartrate witout lactose. I can only find metoprolol succinate (ie. the slow release form of metoprolol) lactose-free as Toprol XL from Astra Zeneca Pty Ltd.
That's fine. I am a pharmacist and I can assure you, there are no interactions between Tylenol and metoprolol.
I read that nausea is one of the side effects.
You should take same amount. Effectivity of succinate vs. tartrate is within 90% of each other. Don't change the dose.
It is not advised to take Viagra with Metroprolol Succinate ER. This could cause adverse side effects. It is best to consult with a doctor or pharmacist when taking any combination of these drugs.
Yes, it is one of the side effects.
Yes they can take together
I'm taking Metoprolol TARTR 25mg, but my blood pressure is 102/62 even before taking the pill. can I take half of the pill so my blood presuure is not that low?
The answer depends on the purpose for which you're taking the metoprolol. Please ask your health care provider, who has the necessary information to advise you.
