The significance of the middle passage is that it brought cheap labor in form of slaves to the new world which made raw materials cheaper in Europe. The middle significance was also responsible for the enslavement and deaths of millions of Africans.

The Middle Passage was a very hard time for Africans.. they were brought to America and auctioned off into slavery... Some people don't think slavery is that bad but if you think about it the Africans were beaten.. more than half died when they were transported to America and were thrown over board if they got sick... when they were sold they were FORCED to work and they did NOT get paid obviously. They were literally dragged away from their loved ones and they had no idea how painful life was about to get.
