I believe the speaker size is 4 x 6. When you go to sites like crutchfield.com, they usually will show the size of speakers that fit your vehicle. For my 2001 Silverado 1500 extended cab, the 4 x 6 was the size they said would fit my truck.
remove the door panel
take door panel off should be screwed to door remove screws take speaker out unhook wires

You will need to remove the speaker covers in your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speakers. Reverse the process to install the new speakers.

The Chevrolet Silverado comes in both 2 door and 4 door models. The regular model has 2 doors, the extended cab has rear access doors and the crew cab has 4 doors.
take off door panel. get a drill and drill out the rivet that is on the door handle bracket. and unscrew the others. and pop out linkage and then install new one

Is the frame positioning correct? If not, jack the frame up to relieve the stress on the door jam and it should open effortlessly
the ones in the door are 6.5...but depending on the speaker a 6 inch will fit too
