How do you open sliding door on a 1996 Ford Aerostar Van that will not disengage?
Tension is automatic. There is no adjustment.
Linkage is out of adjustment or bent. Release handle broken or bent.
The rear brakes are adjusted through the use of the parking brake. Ford does not tell you this in any publication. Use of parking brake once or twice a week but better every stop will keep them in adjustment

There is a child safety lock on the door itself,could be on the front end of sliding door too.not really sure though but good luck on that prob.

There is no adjustment. The rockers are torqued down to specs and that's it. If you have lifter clatter you probably have worn valve train parts.
Either your really hard on brakes, brakes need adjustment or your calipers are faulty.
