A small apartment is fine for any breed of small dog, but enough room they can play. Before purchasing a dog think of these tips: * Will the apartment manager agree to me having a pet? * Puppies may howl and I can't be home all the time ... will the neighbors complain? * How long will I have to leave the dog home alone and who will let it out to go to the bathroom? * What breed of dog is the quietest by character trait? * What breed of dog has the least health issues to content with? * Do I have the time to take my dog for a walk a couple of times a day or in the evening? Even though your dog may play in the apartment it needs fresh air, play time and exercise. I am sure you know all about the above, but just reminding you.

A horse would not be very comfortable on a porch. Even a miniature horse would prefer a grassy patch to a man made set up. Though it is possible to have a horse stay on a porch it is not the best idea and is not terribly comfortable for the animal.
