In their 1620 voyage from England to the New World, the pilgrim-settlers intent on beginning a new life in America sailed on a ship by the name of "Mayflower". Although aged and worn, the small ship managed to make the difficult passage across the Atlantic, landing some hundred passengers onto what would become known as Massachusetts in November of 1620.
The Mayflower was the first ship to carry 102 Pilgrims to America. Many other ships followed.
