Yes it is, and this is because a planet is built up out of the dust that surrounds a star. When a star is formed there is still a disk of gas surrounding it. As this gas cools, it condenses and forms solid grains. These grain particles accrete into large bodies called planetesimals, which then collide and accrete to make protoplanets. These protoplanets evolve into planets like the planets in our own solar system.
Mercury is the only metal in the liquid state.
Moons or asteroids.
A planet. It is a large, solid body orbiting its star - the Sun.

Mars is a solid (rocky) planet. All the inner planets are solid and Mars is an inner planet.
The planet Mercury is a solid ..........................
No, because it doesn't exist.
A planet is a non-luminous approximately spherical solid or gas that is a satellite of a star and that clears its orbital path of any smaller bodies. OR A planet is a solid orbiting body of a star, leaving comets out of the discussion. I have trouble thinking of a planet as a gas.

It is not possible to study the geology of Uranus because geology is the study of the solid matter of a celestial body. Uranus is a gas planet and does not have a solid surface.
