Is the positive connector on a Lead-acid battery white?

The positive connector on a lead acid battery is frequently not white. In the United States, the wire that leads to it is usually red. The black wire leads to the negative terminal. The positive terminal on the battery is always indicated by a plus, +, sign. The Negative terminal is indicated by a minus, -, sign. The negative terminal is usually attached to the body of the car. (Cars have a negative ground, except for 1935-1948 Fords.) The positive connector is usually attached to the solenoid and generator. So check the wire that comes from the battery to the solenoid. That is positive. Check to make sure it is connected +.

How does a battery disconnect work?

A "battery disconnect" is nothing more than a special SWITCH designed and manufactured to be able to carry very large [heavy] electrical current. The one with which I'm familiar mounts on the positive battery terminal after the cable has been removed, and then the cable connector is attached to the output terminal of the disconnect switch. This switch allows one to totally and completely "kill" the battery voltage to the auto circuits, without having to use a wrench to loosen a battery terminal clamp and manually "wrestle" it from the terminal.

Xl7 2004 battery terminal fuse?

There are a number of references on the Internet to corrosion of the positive battery terminal on the 2004 Suzuki XL7. I discovered the problem when the terminal broke apart as I attempted to remove the battery terminal to clean it. The repair is actually quite simple.Attached to the positive battery terminal is a gray plastic part, approximately 1.75" x 1.5". This part contains a 100 amp fuse. Suzuki identifies it as the "battery fuse" (part number 36739-52J00). Remove the two cables from the battery fuse by removing the two hex nuts (10mm and 12mm). The battery terminal is attached by the bolt with the 12mm nut. I found a universal replacement battery terminal at my local auto parts store. Simply reassemble the battery fuse to the two cables and the new battery terminal. If the corrosion is so bad that you are forced to destroy it like I did, you might find a replacement battery fuse at your local Suzuki dealer. I purchased mine from http://www.suzukicarparts.com who I have found to be a very reliable source of Suzuki parts.

If you have a thick wire attached to the positive terminal of a battery attached to a light bulb attached to a thin wire of the same length will the current be the same in both wires?

Yes; the current will be zero, because--as described--the wires are not connected in such a manner as to create a circuit.
