There is no reason that an IT department should be calling to inquire about your computer. Computer companies will only ask information if you have previously submitted a request for help. Never provide anyone with information over the phone. Instead you should hang up and contact the customer service number of the computer company by searching their official website or checking your computer manual where it is usually listed.
