Was it moving and they pressed the brake pedal to STILL the car? How do you KNOW it won't start?
someone tried to start the car with a screwdriver and now the key doesnt go in to start
I removed my ignition switch with a screwdriver and a power drill. I warn you it damaged the whole system though. I have to start it with a screwdriver now.
use a screwdriver
there are 3 notches on the front of the ring around the ignition switch. use a a flat head screwdriver in one of the notches to help turn that ring. reach under the dash and take ahold of the ignition switch main body. using the screwdriver loosen the ring by pulling the screwdriver in a clockwise direction until ring is loose enough to remove with finger pressure. Remove ring and slide ignition switch out through the underside of the dash. Carefully unplug the wire plug from the switch and match plug to new switch box. To install reverse process.

You need to remove the steering wheel first with a puller. There is a latch you can trip with a small screwdriver that will let the ignition switch slide out. Simply replace the switch and put the steering wheel back on.
The ignition switch is screwed on from the front. You can use a screwdriver to push up on one of the three slots on the outside of the switch. Once it is loose, you just unscrew it. Hold on to the switch along the back under the dash so you don't damage the threads.

You have screws on the underside of the steering column take those out with a star screwdriver take the cover off. Now take the screws out of the switch and you might have to have a key to turn the ignition, the switch comes right out with the wires on. Hope this helps
Turn it to ACC., look from under the ignition cover you'll see a little pin. Have your key in the ignition. Depress the pin with a screwdriver or Allen wrench and turn the ignition counter-clockwise. The stem will pull out. The manual says to remove the radio to remove the switch, which requires removing the outer fairing.
Not to bash on the last answer, but, the starter solenoid probably isn't at fault here. If it will start with the screwdriver then the starter solenoid is functioning. It either does or it doesnt. The answer lies in circuitry back from the solenoid to the ignition switch. You could have a bad ignition switch or neutral/safety switch.AnswerDefective starter solenoid.
