James Madison was president from 1809-1817. He is the shortest president in history at 5'4, and the lightest at nearly 100lbs. People often called the this president eigther "Little Jemmy" or "His Little Majesty". Madison was president during the war of 1812, and fleed the Excutive Mansion when the British burned down Washington City. As a young man, Madison was a major influence on the US Constitution, and attended the Constitutional Convention; this gave him the nickname "The Father of the Constitution."
