So when the Jews declared their part of Palestine to be the independent State of Israel, the Arabs declared war on Israel. Even though several Arab nations (including Jordan, Syria, and Egypt) attacked Israel, the Israelis were able to defend their land.

Romulo, the Philippine Representative to the U.N to vote in favor of the independence of Israel. The vote of the Filipino Representative (Carlos P.
