96 Lexus ES doesn't have spark plug wires in the traditional sense. As it has Coil on Plug (COP) coils, it has more like a wiring harness to replace. IMHO it's doubtful this has gone bad. More likely one or more of the COP's has gone bad. What are the symptoms?

They're almost the same plug - according to NGK's spark plug guide the S has a standard 2.5mm electrode and the A is a 'special design' - no more info given than that!

I was looking at the 1998 Mercury Villager Owner Guide ( and one of the Ford websites ) and they both show the spark plug gap as ( .034 inch )
