Spielkarten
The German word for playing cards is Spielkarten.
This may be a transpostion of the plural noun "cards" (playing, greeting, postcards, etc.)Another possibility is the slang term grads (graduating students).
The correct spelling is "shuffle" (to slide one's feet, or mix playing cards).
Spielkarten (pronounced Shpeelkar'ten)
