i live in NC and i saw one of those too on my front porch....well maybe not exactly the same thing, but i saw some creature that wasnt too big with what looked like spider's legs, but a turtle shell thing on its back.......this is too weird......
Truthfully, other than the obvious (crabs and lobsters), they are closely related to the spider.
