Student drivers make $9.50 an hour starting pay.
They don't. Costco hires out third party trucking companies to move their goods. Swift Transportation is one of the primary contractors for them.
You should be turning in your late slips along with a form monthly to a clerk or supervisor at your start location. They then approve it and forward it to the HCO who will also approve it and submit payment/deposit. They can send in back months as well as long as you have the slips and form, ask the clerk about what form you need. I'm just thrilled to hear your actually wanting to pay your drivers for them! Most the Contractors at my (I'm a driver) starting office either don't or want to pay like $10 per hr, etc,, sad, remember to take care of your drivers and they'll take care of your route!
Yes, all contractors even brick paving contractors are required to be licensed in the state of Arizona. You simply pay a fee to get your license.
Individual contractors are paid by the company which contracts them, not by the government. As they are not W2 employees, the companies are the ones who determine the pay rate.
Yes when you are the employer and the contractors are your employees that would be correct W-2 reporting would be required for each employee.

Yes and no. Drivers are not required to pay for a seat directly. Teams choose and hire their drivers themselves. Some drivers are chosen based purely on talent and offered a salary by the team, others are chosen based on a mix of talent and cash/sponsorship money they bring to the team. Many teams will opt for a less talented driver that brings money with them to help fund the team, where as some teams pay their drivers millions of dollars per year. All drivers have to pay for a superlicense in order to be eligible to drive in Formula 1. This superlicense costs $12,800, plus $1,280 for each championship point earned the previous year., meaning some drivers have to pay over $1million for a superlicense while others only have to pay $12,800!
