I also have a Stevens 311A Double Barrell, doubled triggered 12 gauge shotgun made by Savage Arms in very good condition and do not know the age or the value. My gun has a ribbed barrel, but the stock is not walnut. JT 1/19/08
It also says J. Stevens tool co.
I can say that the marking stevens Arms and Tool company was marked on stevens made firearms from 1886-1915.This time period would include your double barrel shotgun. As to value that would dpend on your shotgun having steel barrel or Damascus twist steel barrel(BLACKPOWDER ONLY).The ovreall condition would also be important.
Ray Stevens wrote the Streak. He also wrote Ahab The Arab.
It sounds like you may have a Stevens Tip up pistol, but there is not enough information to give you a definite answer- and value is also driven by condition. You will need to visit a gun shop or gun show in your area for a better answer. Sorry-
I am told by my local gunsmith, they were made from 1930-33. His guess on the value is apx. 270-285 depending on condition. He also told me if a scope was put on it, it would decreese the value of the gun.
Not 100% sure of age and value but I can tell you DON'T EVER LET GO OF IT!!
shia labeouf plays louise stevens in even stevens. shia labeouf also plays the role of sam witwicky in all of the transformers.
A serial number is useless unless you can also provide a model name or number. At least tell us if you are looking at a rifle, shotgun, revolver, single shot pistol, etc. Value is also highly dependent on the CONDITION of the gun.
PP Arnold in 1967. The song was written and also performed by Cat Stevens.
The "J.Stevens" name was shortened to "Stevens" in 1940. What you need to look for is the chamber size, which should be stamped on the barrel. It needs to be 2 & 3/4 inches to shoot modern ammo. Also Stevens usually stamped near the chamber size if the barrel was proof tested. My Stevens single is stamped "Proof Tested Steel" and it handles modern ammo well, but kicks like a mule. To be really safe, let a gunsmith look at it.
