Define Quantitative structural activity relationship?

Quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR)(sometimes QSPR: quantitative structure-property relationship)QSAR is the process by which chemical structure is quantitatively correlated with a well defined process, such as biological activity or chemical reactivity. For example, biological activity can be expressed quantitatively as in the concentration of a substance required to give a certain biological response. Additionally, when physicochemical properties or structures are expressed by numbers, one can form a mathematical relationship, or quantitative structure-activity relationship, between the two. The mathematical expression can then be used to predict the biological response of other chemical structures.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_structure-activity_relationship

What does QSP stand for?

QSP stands for Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship. It is a computational method used in drug discovery to predict the biological activity of chemical compounds based on their structure and physicochemical properties.

Why is aspirin more reactive than benzene?

Benzene has a stable structure. Aspirin has an carboxylic group with delocalized electrons. So aspirin is more reactive than benzene.

Structure activity relationship of antiplatelet drugs?

More correctly it is called antiplatelet aggregation drugs (also called antithrombotic drugs) that include aspirin, clopidogrel, abciximab (monoclonal antibodies) and GPII/ IIIA receptors antagonists etc. Each drug has its own way and mechanism of action. It depends upon chemical structure of drug and site of action. Aspirin blocks aggregation by inhibiting cycloxygenase that produce thromboxane A2 that causes platelet aggregation. Clopidogrel acts as antagonist to P2Y2 receptors present on platelets required for their aggregation. You can check for further details. Umar Mujahid Pharm.D u.mujahid@yahoo.com

What is the relationship between physical activity and physical fitness?

The relationship between physical activity and cardiovascular activity is that physical activity changes body organs, which results in improved cardiovascular fitness. hope this helps :)

Can you boil aspirin into pure opium?
