Earth Hour 2009 was considered to be a huge success. It was held across 25 time zones, in over 4000 cities within 88 countries worldwide. Hundreds of millions of people were involved. Not only was the "lights out" campaign successful in being picked up by so many cities, many people also took advantage of the opportunity to have their voices heard prior to the December 2009 Copenhagen Climate Change Conference by voting on Earthhour.org.
