simple sugars are the sugars that are bad for the body and then the double are the sugars that are twice as bad and takes out more energy during the breakdown of the body . complex sugars are pretty self explanatory . :D

Also, simple sugars are sugars that the body can use directly, while complex sugars take along time to be broken down.

Are there any differences between the two double stranded pieces of DNA?

The general structure of them is the same (sugar phosphate backbone, contains nitrogen bases, etc.) but the strands will have a different order of nitrogen bases that are complimentary to each other.

Distinguish between a saturated and an unsaturated fat and list some unique emergent properties that are a consequence of these structural differences?

A fat is saturated when all of the carbon atoms in the fatty acid chains are bonded to at least two hydrogens. A fat is unsaturated when there is at least one double bond between carbons in the fatty acid chains, and it is polyunsaturated when there are multiple double bonds. The hydrocarbon chains of polyunsaturated fats bend at the places where there are double bonds and this causes them to have low melting points - the fat molecules do not align close together.

What are sides of a double helix made of?

the sides of a double helix are composed of a chain alternating between a phosphate and a deoxyribose (5 carbon) sugar.

What is the region of a chromosome holding the two double strands of replicated DNA together called?

The region of a chromosome holding the two double strands of replicated DNA together is called a centromere. The complex of DNA and protein that makes up eukaryotic chromosome is properly called chromatin.

Why do most viruses have a single strand genome while larger viruses have a double strand genome?

The larger are encoding hundreds more proteins and assembling more complex virions.

Difference between Double salt and Complex salts?

Even though, both double and complex salts contain two metal ions and may be large salts with have many anions attached to them. They differ in one basic way, when dissolved double salts break down to give it constituent ions, whereas complex salts does not break down in the same manner. Rather when dissolved complex salts give the cation and a complex ion. Also, when double salts are tested for presence of their constituent ions, for example KClMgCl.6H2O when tested for presence of K, will give a positive result, whereas a complex ion would not.

What is an open complex?

An open complexAn open complex is the complex of RNA polymerase and one DNA strand (The antisense strand) while a Closed complex is the complex of RNA Polymerase when it is bound to the double stranded DNA. The RNA Polymerase first creates the closed compex. The open complex is created when the double stranded DNA is separated to two strands.
