2005 was the final model year for production of the Pontiac Sunfire. A failed or blown head gasket can result in lost compression, coolant contamination of the oil, and engine damage. A replacement head gasket set/kit can have a wholesale parts cost of 80$+ as of August 2014, plus at least 4 to 5 hours of labor, need to be factored in towards the price of a repair.

There are two kinds on their website. One that can be used while coolant is still in the vehicle (Head Gasket Fix), and one that requires all coolant to be drained before it is used (Head Gasket Repair). One may work better than the other.AnswerMay plug heater core I just used Bar's leaks block seal permanent head gasket fix 1 step (silver bottle 24 oz) $29.99 at O'reilley's , It worked excellent for 6 days on 1997 v-6 3.1 liter engine (it did not plug any heater lines)
Yes it does have a voltage regulator. It is incorporated into the alternator assembly.
TAke off valve cover then strip off old gasket.. clean entire serface with alcohol or gas or gasket remover. Then buy a new gasket from a local auto shop, along with some gasket sealer... Put on new gasket as old one was taken off. Use gasket sealer on top and bottom or gasket. Just a thin coat. THen place the cover back on with gasket in place and tighten bolts. Let sit for about 24 hours before starting to let the gasket sealer dry.. Should work better then ever.

If your truck is modified to make more power then you are probably "lifting" the head, combustion and boost levels get higher as you increase power. The way to fix that is to get the head "O-ringed" where a machine shop cuts a ring in the head,or block and a metal ring is installed to keep combustion pressures from blowing the gasket and/or install a head stud kit, this will keep the head down tighter, and the head studs don't stretch as much as the stock bolts.(I'd just do that if you have the money) head studs are running around the $425 range. If it's stock then the problem is probably that the block needs to be surfaced, sometimes the "deck" of the block can be uneven. If it is stock and you've lost another head gasket then I'd suggest taking it to a different shop, unless they are willing to repair it for free.
It is suggested that you use a high temp. RTV make a gasket. Be sure to remove all the old gasket and wipe all the oil from both surfaces, apply the RTV generiously, then bolt the pan on. Be sure to let it set for about 24 hours for it to fully cure and harden. It is suggested that you use a high temp. RTV make a gasket.
