The license plate light gets its power through the HVAC fuse. That fuse is in the interior fuse box on the driver side of the dash. It is a 10 Amp fuse in the second colum of fuses and is the fuse next to the bottom. Hope that helps.
How do you change a tag light on a 2002 impala
remove inner liner of the trunk lid and you will find twist in sockets with the bulb. DON'T try to remove the light itself...
You can get a blue license Tague light by switching the light cover with a blue tinted cover. You can also switch the clear light bulb with a blue light bulb.
bulb # 168 ( according to the owners manual )
could be the bulb is bad or the socket is corroded or the wiring to it is damaged.
You must first remove the trunk door facia. (This is the part with the "Pontiac" lights in it.) Then you can get to the bulb to replace it.
You have to replace it by crawling under the bumper. It may be handy to have a flashlight with you. Twist and/or pull the bulb out to replace.
With a small screwdriver, pry off the lens that covers the buld. Similar to most interior overhead bulb covers.
Burned out bulb?
Not sure if I know what you mean by "tag"... You can look this up for yourself and translate to the more common terms. See sources and related links below to do so.
It is very easy to change the license plate bulb in a 2001 Dodge Intrepid. You will need to remove the tag and then unscrew the light cover. After the cover is off, unscrew the light and replace with a new one.
You have 2 problems. one is the license light bulb is burned out and the stop light switch is bad. Check them out. GoodluckJoe
