Dont Do it. I purchased $76.00 usd wine in Blaine Washington. When I got to the border you pay on wine a 85% markup fee ontop + federal & provincial tax. Also a litle volume is added in.So at the border I paid an extra $ 125.00 Cdn. So all in all, I could have purchased the wine in Canada for the same price with the Markup & taxes! FYI - Liqour - you pay 150% markup on the price at the border plus taxes. Dont Do it. I purchased $76.00 usd wine in Blaine Washington. How long can you go without employer taking out for federal and state taxes?
There is no length of time, particularly if you are considered a contractor. It does not relieve you of your responsibility to pay the taxes!
