Best Answer

It has the same things the other galaxies have i.e. stars planets etc . It's just that it is very big .

Comments : I think the answer may be that Andromeda gives out light that

is blue shifted instead of the red shift for most galaxies.

So the answer is " a light spectrum that's blue shifted".

How does the milky way galaxy move through the universe relative to other galaxies?

Our galaxy moves away from every other galaxy, and that is a rule for most of known galaxies. This is a consequence of universe expansion. There are exceptions like Andromeda galaxy that is closing to Milky way. These anomalies are a result of gravitational dispersion. Other words, Andromeda was pulled buy some heavy object (other galaxy or a quasar) in the past and then ejected in opposite direction.

What is the closest spiral galaxy to the Milky Way Galaxy?

The closest galaxy to our galaxy the Sagittarius galaxy but its Dwarf Galaxy, Andromeda is the Complete Galaxy and yet classified as the Galaxy which is closest to our galaxy. Facts : There are 12 Dwarf galaxies and 1 complete galaxy within the distance of 500,000 light years. Andromeda Galaxy is moving towards our galaxy at the speed 300,000 Kilometers per hour, but its so far that i would take millions of year to have a clash.

Can two galaxies combine together?

Galaxies do combine or merge together. In about 4.5 -> 5.5 billion years time time, the Andromeda Galaxy will combine with our galaxy, the Milky Way Galaxy. In a lot of cases Irregular Galaxies are believed to have formed with interactions with other galaxies. See related link for a picture of two galaxies merging.

What is the name of your large galaxy nearest to your milky way?
