One of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit is Right Judgment, also known as the gift of Counsel in some translations. Right Judgment helps us to seek advice from others and to make the right decision even when we don't want to admit that we need help. It helps us live out the values taught by Jesus and to avoid sin. Right Judgment is very similar to Prudence, one of the Cardinal Virtues which help you to think before you act and decide what the right choice to make in a situation is.
the holy spirit is to lead us on the right path towards jesus. :)
John the Baptist said that Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire, signifying both purification and empowerment for believers. This baptism represents the cleansing of sins and the empowering of believers to live a life led by the Spirit.
.Catholic AnswerSee the link below for a full explanation. Right Judgment is called "Counsel" and is one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. You receive the grace to develop this in baptism and confirmation, but it is only with practice, prayer, the sacraments, and actually using it that it begins to grow (as with any of the other gifts of the Holy Spirit. God gives us seeds, we have to nurture them, feed them, and protect them for them to grow). The Gift of Counsel gives you the grace to judge rightly what is best in God's sight instead of men's.
Say 'I invite the holy spirit in' and the holy spirit will come in

Right judgment refers to the ability to make fair and reasonable decisions based on unbiased evaluation of facts and circumstances. It involves considering all relevant factors before reaching a conclusion or making a choice. It requires self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, and wisdom.

When a person is "Born Again" or becomes a true Christian, they receive the Holy Spirit and He dwells in them forever. But you can "grieve" the Holy Spirit by continual sinning and by not repenting and confessing your sin to God. The Holy Spirit still dwells in you but will not respond to you or give you comfort, in fact He will cause you misery until you stop your sin and confess it to God. When you "get right" with God the Holy Spirit will be evident in your life again.
Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Paraclete, Comforter...
Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This would make the Holy Spirit a He. Through out Scripture the attributes of God and a real person are attributed to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a He and not an it.
From the Rite of Confirmation:The bishop and the priests who will administer the sacrament with him lay hands upon all the candidates (by extending their hands over them). The bishop alone sings or says:All-powerful God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,by water and the Holy Spirit you freed your sons and daughters from sinand gave them new life.Send your Holy Spirit upon them to be their Helper and Guide.Give them the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence.Fill them with the spirit of wonder and awe in your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: Amen. The Anointing of Chrism“The anointing with chrism and the accompanying words express clearly the effect of the giving of the Holy Spirit. Signed with the perfumed oil, the baptized receive the indelible character, the seal of the Lord, together with the gift of the Holy Spirit that conforms them more closely to Christ and gives them the grace of spreading ‘the sweet odor of Christ’” (Introduction 9).The deacon brings the Chrism to the bishop.
