There are two space stations: the International Space Station, jointly operated by the US and Russia and the Chinese Space Station Tiangong-1. Prior to the Chinese Space Station being launched in 2011, there was only the International Space Station for a period of time. There used to be two space stations before the International Space station when the Russians had the Mir space station, and the US has Skylab. Both of the latter have since fallen back to earth and mostly destroyed upon re-entry.
