Ten European nations that are members of the European Space Agency are helping in the International Space Station. They are France, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Norway, Germany, Italy and The Netherlands. Some other countries have contributed experiments to it, but are not formally part of the building of it.

The ISS was built by placing several modules into LEO (Low Earth Orbit) by member countries - US, Russia, Japan, and 10 European Countries (as ESA). These modules were assembled in space to realise the ISS. No rocket would have been able to transport that mass of payload at once into orbit. Modules are still being added until its final completion in 2010.
Was built under an international cooperation led by the United States, Russia and the funding from Canada, Japan and 10 European countries, began construction by the year 1998, amounted to 100 billion euros. On board the ISS this moment, four astronauts. There are at least four
Construction of the iss started in 1998 and it was finished in 2011, so calculate that, ummm so it took 13 years to build the international space station!! HOpe I helped:)
