replace the truck motor, or spray the existing one with wd40 to be sure all moving parts are well oiled.
I have not worked on a Lincoln, but most Ford vehicles have the relay on the drivers side in the trunk. I hope this helps you. Mark If it is not in the trunk check the drivers side between the front and rear doors.
put your key in the ignition turn it on , have someone push the trunk button while pulling up on the trunk catch

There is no trunk release on a 1991 Chevy Caprice.
Remove the power trunk release, it may be stuck and holding the latch to the open position. I had same problem and found that if I use the key to unlock power lock then closed trunk - it worked.

Something is wrong with my 1991 Toyota Corolla Dx's trunk latch. It will not let me close the lid shut and it stay shut. It will not stay latched. There is nothing no obstruction. Can you help me? Thanks
