It sounds like there is wires that have a loose connection somewhere. I have a 79 DeVille and the Blower Motor was OK but at the Climate Control Switch that controls the Air/Heat/Fan Speed a loose connection where the wires fit on the Control Switch was loose and a defective Climate Control Switch was the problem on another 79 DeVille. I know there are years between our Cars but this might help you as a Dealership can be expensive.
