It means the light is burnt out. Just remove the plastic console surrounding it, remove the light and match it with a new one.
Low beam bulb burnt out? Replace bulb. Bulbs OK? If the dimmer switch is also the turn signal/cruise/headlight on and off switch, you probably have to replace the entire switch.
check the light bulbs to make sure theres nothing wrong with the bulb itself ie burnt out or intrenal short in the bulb. as for the check gauges lite it will come on when your gastank is low or if something is wrong
could be a couple things did you check your fuses? bulbs could be burnt out, and only giving normal headlights, might want to replace you might need to replace the headlight/highbeam arm that stick out of your steering coloumn. cheapest thing first. start with fuses, then bulbs etc. it will also look like your high beams arent working if you have a build up of dirt on them, it will dim the light significantly.

The cover comes off with easy prying on the side of the plastic case over the assembly. Then, the bulbs holder comes out with a slight twist. The bulbs can then be pulled from the bulb holder.

If you can smell burnt plastic then you could potentially be in danger. Smoke from burning plastic can be harmful to breathe.
burnt bulbs replace them correct answer if the bulbs work on one side, but same bulbs dont work on other side , u have a broken wire to the side that doesnot work if the bulbs were burnt out, they would not work on either side

Are you sure they are burnt out?? A 1998 model year vehicle is much too young to have theat many burned out bulbs. There is something else that is causing this problem.
