The check engine light in my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica stays on constantly. Car is running fine so far. I have had no problems just kinda curious what the problem might be?

You can get the codes out of your Pacifica very easily. Turn the car off. Wait a few seconds. Put the key in and turn the ignition on-off-on-off-on all within 5 seconds, then watch the odometer display. It will display any codes it has in memory, in order, then "done". btw: The most common is a code for the evaporative emissions systems (P 0440) and usually that means you need to tighten or replace your gas cap. The gas cap must seal, and over time they don't seal as well any more.

The engine control computer has identified a problem with it's monitoring systems.

Many times this is a sensor getting old or malfunctioning but does not affect drive-ability.

You can also have the malfunction codes read with an OBDII reader, ( most parts stores will do it for free ) and go from there. The code will have a description of the problem and get you headed in the right direction for repair.

Caution, your vehicle will not pass emissions inspection with the MIL lit, and will not perform at its best fuel economy until the issue is resolved.
