∙ 11y agoEast Egg is considered the more 'fashionable' or 'old money' where those who live there have done for many years (ie The Buchanans) whereas West Egg reflects the American dream- average Joe works hard and buys a fancy house in a nice area. (ie Gatsby) However the separation of the two places just shows how the two worlds still don't mix and portray the boundaries or restrictions of the American Dream.
